April Competition Recap

Students and coaches from True Believer Jiu Jitsu were busy in late April with several competitions. Some traveled to New York to compete in the IBJJF Spring International Open 2019, while others remained in Pittsburgh to compete in the local Grappling Industries submission-only event. Regardless of where individuals competed, True Believer Jiu Jitsu is proud of each competitor for representing the tribe and taking on the challenge of competing in the sport of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Make It Inevitable: Lessons from Jacob Miclot’s Path to Black Belt

Miclot received his black belt from Gutemberg Pereira on behalf of Julio Cesar Pereira in January of 2018, under the Grappling Fight Team (GFTeam) mantle. As with anyone who achieves the rank of black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Miclot had valuable insights to share from his journey.
