Master Julio Cesar Pereira visited Ronin Training Center in Columbus, Ohio, where he shared some of his more than 35 years of knowledge gained at the black-belt level with fellow GFTeam members. A coral belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and a two-time world champion at the black-belt level, Master Julio was also accompanied by long-time student Vito Oliveira, who has earned masters champion at IBJJF Worlds every year since 2016.
True Believer Jiu Jitsu sent a crew of more than 20 students and professors to Columbus to take advantage of this unique learning opportunity. Over the two hours of instruction, Master Julio shared intricate details on fundamental positions, refining techniques from old-school Brazilian Jiu Jitsu — from guard opens and pressure passing to finishing with a highly detailed arm lock. He also shared his favorite submission, the straight ankle lock.
Master Julio spent the end of the seminar sharing his history in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, along with the history of the now world-famous GFTeam and his goals for the future. The team at True Believer Jiu Jitsu is grateful for this opportunity and looks forward to participate in many more GFTeam events to come.
